We take our Hat of for Finland for their Olympic Gold in Ice Hockey….
It has during the years been needed some famous “perkele” management to reach the Goal – but with their play and attitude the last seasons they have showed that the game is about how you use all your team efforts in the best way for the team… and that you with that could win against Teams that seems to have bigger individual Team Efforts…
Sweden, with their Center strategy -same as Vikings- and a defensive play also did a good tournament and could not have been closer to reach the Final when they looked to have it in the penalty shoot out – without to finish it… In Bronze game Slovakia was the strongest mentally, and they also took their first Olympic Medal, led by a Lucky Shoot from a 17 year old player in the “zon” what a great Leadership …. The Danes… Vikings related Danish Legend and coach Jens Nielsen almost beat Russia in the Quarterfinal – with a controlled and stylish play to the dead end… And finally China – saved their faces with some international support and some Harbin and Hokay players inserted. I think they actually did quite well without to be close to medals, but it could be a different story in 4 ( Milano) to 8 (Barcelona ?) years when the Next Generation created will be ready…
Regarding the Olympics, It still hurts me that Bandy could not get it there as I think China could have a chance to get a Team Medal on the Woman side, Yes I know we have had to move over the bodies of Chris Middlebrock (USA) and Leo Segerman (Finland), to do that and it is not easy – However the Ice Ribbon in Beijing will certainly store Bandy WC in the future and hopefully it will be a chance in Barcelona 2030.. Because it should also be there…
Finally we also take our Hat of for Majadahonda Team, who won against Txuri Yesterday, and if not the Moon Fall Down over us – they will reach Play Off and be the best Team in Madrid this season, due to that we won the series this year. Also a great Team Effort and Good Luck in the Play Off… We could just not wait for the Derbys next Season in Hortaleza….Hockey in The Spanish League is really hot by all means….
