Swedish National Inline Junior Team 5th in WC in Nanjing China

The Swedish Junior Inline Team, won 5 games and just lost one game to the the coming Champions France. In a tight quarterfinal loosing in extra time. The Swedish Team beat Germany, Latvia and Swiss on their way to Quarterfinal and the tight loss to France – Then they gave USA a lesson before the rematch from the spring against the Colombian Team, that then had Carl Wassenius in their Team and won against the Swedish Team.

In the build on this game The Colombian Team did a good performance already in the group play  and sensationally picked out Canada coming back from 1-5, changing goalie – when it started blowing mentally in the Arena – and the Colombian Team  won the game 6-5. They also did a good game in the quarter against Tjeck Team loosing quite late – before beating the Swiss Team.

However in the 5-6 place game against Sweden it was a clear difference and the Swedish Team won quite easily…

“This year the whole team felt that we where really close to the medals but hopefully it will come a new opportunity next year” said Robert Alvarez Holmstrom, who together with former Nordic Vikings player  William Nielsen was the one that represented the Swedish Team.
